Records created by local governments touch the lives of ordinary citizens more directly and more frequently than any other kinds of records. The Judge of Probate of Marion County is the custodian of Marion County citizens' records. These records contain a wealth of information for historians, attorneys, surveyors, genealogists, and other researchers. In 2007,the Marion County Probate Court initiated use of digital computerized scanning technology to record documents.  At this time, the Probate Court is providing access to recorded documents through its Internet website, which is located below.  A courteous and professional staff is available to assist in locating records or to explain how to use our indexing system to those interested in researching records.
