Marion County Engineer’s Office
The Marion County Engineer's Office manages the county highway and bridge planning, design, and construction program. This office also consults with each district regarding maintenance and drainage projects. The engineering office staff reviews subdivision plans, manages the county flood plain ordinance, builds and installs county roadway signs, and facilitates the county bridge inspection program.

The engineering department is also responsible for preparing annual material bids; developing design bid specifications for highway and bridge projects; reviewing highway and bridge plans, contracts, and cost estimates for technical accuracy; planning construction schedules; and inspecting construction sites to monitor progress and ensure adherence to engineering plans specifications, and construction and safety standards.
